After the Senseless Death of Six Hostages, Can Peace With Hamas Even Be Found Anymore? (Guest: Grant Berry)

The founder of Reconnecting Ministries discusses the horrifying incident, as well as Netanyahu’s statement that peace may never be found.

The body count in the war between Israel and Hamas continued to rise over the weekend, as six hostages were found dead following a near-rescue attempt by Israeli forces.

“According to our initial estimation, they were brutally murdered by Hamas terrorists a short time before we reached them,” a military spokesperson explained in an early-morning briefing.

Following this horrifying incident, a round of finger pointing has begun. A senior Hamas official notes how the U.S. was to blame for the deaths, since a ceasefire deal wasn’t properly reached.

But Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu had stern words in his response, noting, “Whoever murders hostages – does not want a deal.” He also swore that Israel would “catch those responsible” for the deaths of the hostages.

And it leads to the question – is a ceasefire even possible at this point? Or will the war continue to rage on and bring the body count into the thousands?

Joining us now to discuss this further is Grant Berry, founder of Reconnecting Ministries and the author and producer of the Romans 911 project. His expertise in what’s happening in Israel makes him an ideal guest for this subject. Welcome, Grant.

Q&A:

  1. How heartbreaking is the loss of these six hostages, especially when they were so close to being rescued?
  2. Who do you believe is truly to blame for their deaths? Hamas believes the U.S. is the problem, but didn’t they commit the murders?
  3. What do you think about Netanyahu’s statement that a ceasefire is simply unreachable for those that kill hostages such as this? Does he make a fair point? Or is Israel just not trying enough?
  4. Where do you see the conflict between Israel and Hamas going in the months ahead? Will the situation get worse before it gets better?
  5. Tell us more about the Romans 911 audiobook, as well as the Romans 911podcast.
  6. Where can we find Romans 911 and learn more about it?
    1. There are two websites: Romans911.org, which introduces the project; and our main website, ReconnectingMinistries.com.
