A CNN poll that landed Sunday found “Gun Policy” tied for the third most important subject behind only the economy and the vague concept of “protecting democracy,” which was a particularly popular answer among Democrats. While 65 percent of registered voters named the economy as “extremely important,” 58 percent said “protecting democracy,” followed by 48 percent for gun policy, crime and immigration.
The poll did not define “gun policy” in any way.
Joining us now to discuss the breaking poll is Stephen Willeford, the spokesman for the Gun Owners of America. You may recall Willeford being the “hero with a gun” with the Sutherland Springs situation in 2017, which led to a book he co-authored.

2. What do you suppose CNN means by “gun policy?” Do the people they poll understand?
3. When you see that this tied for third with concerns about crime and immigration, does it all seem related to you?
4. The concern over gun policy has grown over the past decade – more than doubling since CNN polling in 2012. Why do you suppose that is?
5. The concern over crime has increased ten points since Biden won the presidency in 2020. Why do you think it is up so much?
6. What is Gun Owners of America doing to help citizens maintain their gun rights? Has the Biden administration been a burden?
