Former Mayor of Shiloh David Rubin discusses the vision that the visiting Biden official has, and if it’s sustainable.
As the war wages on between Israel and Hamas, U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken visited the former, calling on the country to work with moderate Palestinians and fellow countries regarding plans for Gaza following the war.
He noted that they were willing to work together to rebuild and govern the territory, but with one condition – there would have to be a “pathway to a Palestinian state.”
Blinken noted that Israel “must stop taking steps that undercut the Palestinians’ ability to govern themselves effectively,” and “must be a partner of the Palestinian leaders who are willing to lead their people” and stand “side by side in peace with Israel.”
But is it sustainable? And, for that matter, is it the ultimate answer for Israel?
