Germany has been trying to find solutions to its ongoing energy problems – but the latest move by a big energy company has left a number of experts scratching their heads, wondering, “How dare Germany destroy wind farms to expand coal-powered electricity.
Per this Fox Business report, German energy company RWE has announced that it will take apart a nearby wind farm to allow a coal mine to increase its operations.
Climate Change activists are weeping and gnashing their teeth with this ‘outrage,’ calling out the company with one spokesperson noting, “In the current situation, all potential for the use of renewable energy should be exhausted as much as possible and existing turbines should be in operation for as long as possible.”
But Guy Mitchell says, “Unless Russian reverses course and pumps oil back into Germany, or unless German maxes out their coal power plants, German citizens are in for a cold winter, and the last thing they’ll want to feel is the cold air of wind turbines on the backs of their necks.
Here to tell us more about the impending cold German winter, Guy Mitchell, author of Global Warming: The Great Deception – The Triumph of Dollars and Politics Over Science and Why You Should Care. H
Q&A:
- This seems to be the latest move by a country trying to find a proper energy solution but potentially making matters worse. What’s your take on RWE replacing a wind farm with a bigger coal mine operation?
- Could this end up being a costly endeavor for the country down the road? Either in terms of climate or overall dollar value? Or perhaps both?
- Considering both the energy company and the coal mine call this “paradoxical,” does it make sense that they’re still moving forward with shutting down the farm? Do you think climate experts can see the damage that’s being done with this?
- This, combined with Joe Biden’s recent efforts to try and convert to new energy sources, indicate that there could be some rough times ahead – especially with a potential recession coming our way. Do you think Biden could learn something from this with his own policies? Or, more importantly, will he even bother?
- Where do you see Germany’s energy game going over the next year? What other resources do you think they’ll turn to in an effort to keep the resources going?
- Tell us more about your latest book, Global Warming: The Great Deception – The Triumph of Dollars and Politics Over Science and Why You Should Care, and why it’s such a relevant read right now in the face of a potential energy crisis.
