Other Grassy Knoll: If JFK’s Assassination Required Triangulation, South Knoll Cannot be Ignored
As we approach the 63rd anniversary of President John F. Kennedy’s assassination in 1963, in Dallas, a surviving eyewitness from that day says investigators have been looking in the wrong place all along. Former CIA contract pilot Robert “Tosh” Plumlee insists he was in Dealey Plaza on November 22, 1963, on an intelligence-related mission intended to stop the assassination after receiving advance warning that a plot was underway.
Plumlee is further demanding that a photo taken seconds after the assassination requires further forensic review because it may show the shooter that fired at JFK from the South Knoll (the Other Grassy Knoll). In 1964, Plumlee, who was on that Knoll, drew a map for the FBI in 1964 that subsequently disappeared. In 1981, he re-drew that map (shown below):

While the debate has long centered on the Texas School Book Depository and the famous “grassy knoll” behind the picket fence, Plumlee argues the missing piece of the puzzle has always been the South Knoll, opposite the more well-known north knoll. The witness says he was positioned near the area when he heard, and physically felt, a bullet pass directly over his head moments before striking President Kennedy. That experience convinced him a shot originated from the elevated parking lot above the South Knoll.

Even more intriguing, the 88-year-old Plumlee and Dealey Plaza witness points to a photograph taken within seconds of the assassination that he believes captures the silhouette of a gunman standing in that parking lot. During this interview, he analyzes the image frame by frame, explaining why he believes it deserves renewed forensic examination using today’s digital enhancement technology.
His theory also addresses a fundamental problem that has challenged assassination researchers for decades. If there truly was coordinated crossfire, as many critics of the official narrative have argued, then triangulation requires three firing positions. Assuming shots came from behind the limousine and another from behind the picket fence on the North Knoll, the remaining position necessary to complete that triangle would logically be the South Knoll.
Whether viewers ultimately agree or disagree, Plumlee offers one of the most detailed firsthand explanations yet for why he believes investigators overlooked a critical firing position in Dealey Plaza. His account challenges long-held assumptions while inviting audiences to examine both the photographic evidence and the geometry of the shooting from a fresh perspective.
