WiMKiN Is Taking Social Media By Storm – And There’s No Stopping It (Guest: Kevin Jackson)

VP of Content Management Kevin Jackson discusses the growing site’s plan of action.

Social media has been under heavy scrutiny as of late, between Elon Musk acquiring Twitter and creating controversy left and right with it; and TikTok, which is currently under the microscope in Washington. But in the midst of all this, WiMKiN is set to make history in just a short amount of time.

Described as “100% Uncensored Social Media,” WiMKiN, founded by Jason Sheppard, currently stands as the fastest growing social media sites out there. But it isn’t just about social media, it’s about what the team calls “social convening.”

WiMKiN has nearly nine million members to boot, and is adding continuous content to its site, including TV, movies and other entertainment. It also looks to cover the pop culture arena, even as most of its members are considered “politically charged.”

But more importantly, the fight WiMKiN undertook to find its social media footing is worth noting.

  • Despite being subpoenaed for it, WiMKiN refused to provide information on every single user per J-6 requests, in the interest of protecting their rights
  • Fought for free speech after app store refusals to moderate content based on their needs. Following a battle that lasted over half a year, WiMKiN won and retained that right to free speech.
  • WiMKiN is the only social media site that allows up to 20GB video uploads, as well as four hours of free live streaming per post for podcasts. Verification is also free (unlike other social sites), as well as free unlimited chat and calling.
  • The ICOP Division of the U.S. Postal Inspection Service was highly motivated by how wonderfully WiMKiN operated, and, as a result, motivated them to start surveillance of social media posts and platforms.
  • Considering what’s happening with TikTok as of late, WiMKiN proudly provides more features, parental control and age groups for content selection, and full encryption and Data Safe features. It also provides matching for people with similar interests, and is fully American owned and operated (unlike TikTok).
  • WiMKiN now has over ten million sign-ups, and has banned over 1.3 million bot signup accounts, making sure all the users are accounted for as humans.
  • For those interested in making some sort of profit, WiMKiN actually provides a 25 percent Revenue share to influencers from revenue generated via podcast uploads. That’s the highest percentage amongst social networks to date.

Kevin Jackson, who is owner of The Kevin Jackson Network and was previously a contributor for Fox News, recently joined WiMKiN as vice president of content management. He joins us now to discuss it further, and the strides it’s taken since its creation to become an ideal social network.

Q&A:

  1. First off, how did WiMKiN get its name, and how did it come together?
  2. The site has grown tremendously over the past couple of years. What would you say are the biggest features that stand out for it? Bigger video posting capability? Unlimited communication amongst users? A stronger offering to influencers? Or perhaps all of it?
  3. We noticed that the WiMKiN site recently added Politichatter and Mumblit to its ranks. How will this add to its overall appeal?
  4. With TikTok coming into question (mainly due to its overseas origins), can you discuss more about WiMKiN’s features having a homegrown appeal?
  5. While the site has a heavy range of political users, you’re also looking to cover pop culture as well. How’s this growth going so far? Do you also intend to look at other categories?
  6. You noted how WiMKiN is regularly adding movies and TV to its service. How has video growth been going over the past few months? Do you see people adding even more in 2023?
  7. So far you’ve got over 10 million sign-ups for WiMKiN and offer a tremendous amount of revenue for influencers, the highest for a social network to date (25 percent). How did you go about setting up that particular revenue stream, and what other WiMKiN features are you looking to add in the future, if you can tell us?
  8. On a personal note, what motivated you to join the team at WiMKiN?
  9. Where can users download the WiMKiN app?

It’s available for download here on the App Store, and is also available on Google Play. For those that prefer to use it on desktop, you can simply visit this page.

10. Finally, where can people register for WiMKiN and learn more about what it has to offer?
