The pastor of El Shaddai Ministries discusses the recent termination of Yoav Gallant, and what possibly comes next.
For the second time in a year and a half, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has fired his defense minister, Yoav Gallant. And this time, it’s likely that the termination will stick.
Israel Katz is set to replace Gallant as defense minister, while Gideon Sa’ar replaces Katz as foreign minister.
In a statement, Netanyahu noted, “In the midst of a war, more than ever, full trust is required between the prime minister and the minister of defense. Unfortunately, although in the first months of the campaign there was very fruitful work, during the last months this trust cracked between me and the minister of defense.”
Gallant noted, “The security of the State of Israel always has, and will always remain, my life’s mission.”
When he was initially fired in 2023, protestors called for Netanyahu to reconsider his termination – which he inevitably did. This time around, however, in the midst of the fight between Israel and Hezbollah and Iran, it’s likely not to change course.
But what level of disdain will this create for Israel? Joining us now to discuss this further is Pastor Mark Biltz, an author and the founder and Senior Pastor of El Shaddai Ministries in Washington State. His experience should prove useful in this conversation. Welcome, Mark.
