Who Is the Federal Reserve’s Interest Rate Hike Really Out To Help? (Guests: Dr. Ron Paul, Brett Winterble)

One of the biggest stories this week revolves around the Federal Reserve and its attempt to halt the booming inflation in the United States by increasing the interest rate by 0.75 percent. But many are asking who exactly this is going to help.

When the rate hike took place, Federal Reserve chairman Jerome Powell noted during a press conference, “It is essential that we bring inflation down if we are to have a sustained period of strong labor market conditions that benefit all.”

However, not everyone is optimistic with the hike. In an interview with NPR, Aaron Klein noted, “The Federal Reserve got inflation wrong. And now they’re trying to correct their mistake by pretty quickly hiking interest rates. And that will slow the economy.” This means troublesome times ahead for anyone filling their gas tank or trying to buy a home, or even trying to find certain food that they enjoy.

There have been whispers that, with inflation going the way that it is, that there could be a recession in 2023. How the Federal Reserve will react to that has yet to be seen, though it did make note that it will meet in July to talk about raising rates again.

Here to speak on the matter now is a representative for Birch Gold Group, discussing the state of the economy further. (This could be either Brett Winterble or Dr. Ron Paul.)

Q&A:

  1. How much should this Fed rate hike really be if Powell is serious about tackling inflation? (aka What would Paul Volcker do?)
  2. Is the Fed more concerned about inflation, or about increased interest payments on the $30-plus trillion national debt?
  3. Do you believe the Fed is raising rates by 0.75% because they really believe it will help, or because they are under political pressure from the Biden Administration?
  4. How badly could a recession affect Americans in 2023? Especially those already feeling the crunch of what’s happening with gas prices and certain food items not being available?
  5. Birch Gold Group is a company that specializes in tangible assets, including gold and silver. Do you believe that these are still worth investing in, despite everything that’s happening with inflation and the rate hike?
  6. Where can we learn more about Birch Gold Group, gold IRAs, and other services provided by Birch Gold.
