Which Way Will the Hispanic Vote Lean This Year?

Rev. Samuel Rodriguez takes a closer look at the impact of the Hispanic vote, and an interesting strategy chance for Donald Trump.

As the 2024 Presidential Election begins to take shape, some interesting numbers indicate that the Hispanic vote is set to make an impact – and not necessarily for President Joe Biden in his hunt for a re-election.

poll conducted by USA Today and Suffolk University indicates that, among Hispanic voters, Biden is currently trailing former President Donald Trump by a margin of 39 to 34 percent. This is a huge drop from Biden’s Hispanic support back in 2020, which was around 65 to 32 percent.

In addition, twenty percent of Hispanic voters indicated they will vote for a third-party candidate. That leaves a whopping 80 percent ready to lean towards the main nominees – and Trump could easily be a favorite.

Judging by his popular reaction at this week’s Iowa caucuses, Trump could be the forerunner for the Republican election slot. There’s still a few months left to go, however, not to mention his ongoing legal woes.

Here to talk about these numbers – and the impact of the Hispanic vote as a whole – is Rev. Samuel Rodriguez, president of the National Hispanic Christian Leadership Conference and advisor to Presidents Bush, Obama, and Trump.  Welcome, Rev. Rodriguez.
