What Kind of Violence Could Pro-Life Pregnancy Centers Face Following the Texas Abortion Ruling and Contravening?

CompassCare CEO Jim Harden speaks about the court decision, as well as what could follow in the days ahead.

Right before Easter weekend, Judge Matthew J. Kacsmaryk of the Northern District of Texas ruled how the FDA had flat out disobeyed procedural requirements when it came to the approval of the abortion drug Mifepristone, which actually proved to be five times more dangerous than surgical abortion.

However, before this could take effect, Judge Thomas Rice of the Eastern District of Washington contravened the TX ruling, on behalf of seventeen pro-abortion states and the District of Columbia. (It’s worth noting, in somewhat odd fashion, that the FDA was the defendant in both cases.)

As a result, the ruling from Judge Rice has taken away any deregulation of the controversial drug, including a patient’s informed consent. In response, Rev. James Harden, CEO for CompassCare pregnancy centers, has said, “Judge Rice’s ruling represents a reckless reduction in basic standard of women’s health care.”

Harden was also quick to bring up how the FDA had defended itself in court before surrounding regulations for Mifepristone, including in May 2020 (defending its regulations) and again in April 2021 (deregulating the same drug and then defending those deregulations.) “The FDA is a presidential ping-pong ball. As evidenced by their schizophrenic defense of their own process and regulation of the chemical coat hanger, it is clear that they are not making decisions based on the safety of women, but on politics.”

He then went on to add, “The result of pro-abortion politicians’ irresponsible portrayal of Kacsmaryk’s ruling will only serve to foment more irrational anger and pro-abortion Antifa recruitment. This will inevitably lead to more violence—God forbid even on Easter Sunday.

“It is moments like these when civil societies call for debates, not arms. If militant members of pro-abortion Antifa (i.e. the John Brown Gun Club) display violence at churches and pregnancy centers in the coming days, they declare themselves to be cowards with Marxist beliefs that undermine civil society.”

With the lack of any kind of response from the FBI surrounding threats to pro-life organizations, Harden has heavy concerns about what lies in the months ahead for pregnancy centers, including a Buffalo-based CompassCare, which has been the subject to both defacing and firebombing attacks over the past few months. He joins us now to discuss the matter further.

Q&A:

  1. What do you think about the FDA’s continuous indirection when it comes to the regulation and deregulation of its Mifepristone abortion pill?
  2. Why do you think Judge Rice acted so quickly to contravene the decision passed down by Texas surrounding the FDA’s actions? Who do you think he may be working with on that matter?
  3. You’ve noted in the past how abortion pills are actually more dangerous than a surgical abortion procedure. What would you say are the worst effect surrounding them? Could they even kill a woman?
  4. Do you believe we’ll see even more attacks on pro-life and pregnancy centers in the months ahead as Jane’s Revenge and other Maoist Antifa groups?
  5. Speaking of attacks, tell us more about what your Buffalo-based CompassCare location has gone through over the past few months, and how there has been zero arrests following a firebombing that took place over the previous year.
  6. Where do you think the battle between pro-life and pro-abortion will go in the months ahead?
  7. Tell us more about CompassCare and the services you provide for those needing assistance with their pregnancy.
  8. For those that are interested in supporting CompassCare and learning more about the services they provide, where can they go?
