What is the Mysterious “Disease X” That the WHO, WEF and Other Global Orgs Are Preparing For?

The Epoch Times’ Kevin Stocklin discusses his latest report, concerning planning for a new potential pandemic – and the global fight against medical “misinformation.”

There’s been a lot of talk about “Disease X,” an as-yet-unidentified pandemic, and how the world must prepare for it.

In a new report published on The Epoch Times website, World Health Organization (WHO) director-general Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus noted how in 2018, the organization “needed to have a placeholder for the disease we didn’t know.” Hence the name “Disease X” coming into play.

At last week’s gathering of political and corporate elites in Davos for the World Economic Forum annual summit, Disease X was a hot topic, together with the fight to quell “misinformation and disinformation,” which the WEF says is the greatest global risk today.

The WEF, the WHO and other organizations explained the strategies and infrastructure they are putting in place to take action when Disease X strikes.

A “100 Days Mission” strategy was developed by the Coalition for Epidemic Preparedness Innovations (CEPI) and McKinsey & Company to produce and distribute vaccines against whatever disease may come within 100 days, before which time health officials would rely on “non-pharmaceutical interventions,” which during Covid included lockdowns, social distancing, surveillance and contact tracing, school closures, forced masking, etc. CEPI stated: “we acknowledge that enabling the 100-day aspiration would come with a number of risks which would need to be extensively evaluated in advance of a pandemic, and the goal should be pursued only if the right safeguards … are put in place.”

Both the WHO and the WEF have prioritized the fight against the public getting bad information. The WHO pandemic accord, currently before member countries including the U.S. for approval, commits member nations to identifying, combating and rooting out sources of misinformation about health issues, which go beyond diseases to include health threats from global warming.

“We thought the internet would democratize information and bring transparency to the world, but pretty much the opposite has happened,” Peter Giger, chief risk officer at Zurich insurance and a contributor to the report, noted. “People basically live in their bubbles and don’t even recognize what’s happening outside.”

However, critics argue that governments and health officials themselves were a source of a great deal of misinformation about Covid. And given the dismal performance of many governments and health agencies during Covid, some skeptics are expressing concern about giving more authority to state officials and attempting to centralize more authority within the WHO, which has also been charged with spreading misinformation about Covid-19.

The Epoch Times’ senior investigative reporter who wrote the article, Kevin Stocklin, joins us now to discuss this further. Welcome, Mr. Stocklin!
