The founder of Reconnecting Ministries discusses the recent events, and what can be taken away from them.
This week has been incredibly rough when it comes to natural disasters. A few days ago, an earthquake shook Taiwan, leaving several dead and destroying a number of properties. And late last week, a 4.8 magnitude earthquake hit the East Coast, mainly New Jersey and New York City.
If that isn’t enough, a major solar eclipse is set to arrive this week, and many are speculating whether it means something bigger in terms of what’s happening in our world. Some, like USA Today, believe it’s a sign that “God is displeased with us.” But is this really the case? Or does this signal something different to come?
Joining us now to discuss this further is Grant Berry, founder of Reconnecting Ministries and the author and producer of the Romans 911 project. His expertise on the matter make him a great subject for this interview. Welcome, Grant!

- So many people believe that these earthquakes serve as a sign from God, and that he’s displeased. What do you think about this theory?
- You noted these could simply be “gentle warnings.” Warnings about what? Taking better care of ourselves and our world? Or something else?
- What do you think will come following the solar eclipse? Some believe it’s the “beginning” of something, but is it?
- Some believe that these serve as signs that we should “repent harder” with God. What do you think about this?
