Author and Lets See Labs founder Gareth Gwyn explains the lessons that can be learned from the lack in good leadership.
By now you’ve probably heard about the defamation settlement from Fox News over a lawsuit filed by Dominion, to the tune of $787 million. But there’s still a lot of discussion about where the blame falls. And some of that is likely leaning towards a lack of good leadership.
Many blame Fox News for not having proper leadership when it came to stopping hurtful lies about Dominion’s voting equipment from being told. What’s more, a majority of finger-pointing still has people wondering who’s to blame.
Joining us now Gareth Gwyn, the author of You Are Us: How To Build Bridges In a Polarized World, where she speaks with several stereotypically vilified and victimized individuals about the power for inner change, something that proves very useful when it comes to the power of growth. She also created Let’s See Labs, which focuses on the sociocultural transformation of individuals through a variety of interactive classes.
Gwyn previously noted in a statement, “Leaders who demonstrate non-polarizing leadership can navigate major controversies like the recent Fox News settlement with curiosity and responsibility rather than reactivity, blame, or self-righteousness. When we feel the strong pull towards villainizing another side in a charged news topic, it’s possible to remain centered and return to the one thing we actually have control over, our own emotions and reactions, ultimately leading to possibilities we couldn’t previously see.”
Her expertise will certainly be useful in this matter.
