Weekend Cop Killings: Two NYPD Officers ambushed, and Texas officer killed at a routine traffic stop

Suggested host intro:

Just when violent crime against police couldn’t get any worse, two more New York police officers were ambushed and killed over the weekend, and another police officer in Texas during a routine traffic stop.

Violent crime is rising at an unprecedented rate, already topping last year’s 29% increase that set as a record, and we haven’t even completed the first month of 2022.

With the passing of these heroes added to this wave of lawlessness, every American should proactively help protect those sworn to protect us, our police, and other first responders.

Our guest on this topic is police officer Michael Letts, who says if we do not unite and take immediate action, we could spiral into Anarchy and Third World country status.

Suggested Talking Points:

1) How did two NYPD officers die in the line of duty in New York over the weekend?

Answer: A mother called about a domestic violence situation in her home between herself and her sons, one of whom had a lengthy criminal record of weapons possessions assault against a peace officer, among other charges. Such information was not disclosed, and upon entry into the apartment, the suspect emerged firing on both officers. The first officer (age 22) died at the scene, the second officer (age 27) succumbed to his gunshot wounds Sunday.

2) Tell us what happened in Texas at what was supposed to be a routine traffice stop.

3) What Tactical gear may have aided in this situation?

Answer: Active Shooter vests and helmet gear would have had a significant impact from preventing injury to changing perception and presence.

4) The newly elected mayor has decried the tragedy and stated the Federal government needs to do more to keep illegal weapons off the streets. What is your view on this strategy?

Answer: New York City and State have some of the most strict guns in the country, yet its violent crime rate is some of the highest anywhere! Their policies are absolutely failing and must be changed if New York City and America are to survive, let alone continue as a beacon of hope and freedom to the world. Gun control has never worked. Frightening law-abiding citizens into being defenseless while allowing the criminals to kill, steal, loot, and destroy with impunity by being soft on crime through the local DA Briggs Office has brought us to this point in our society today.

5) If more gun control is not the answer, what is the answer?

Answer: For starters, we need to honor the Second Amendment provided by our founding fathers for our protection and regularly let police officers and other first responders know how much they are needed and appreciated. Their morale has been low in this Defund the Police era. But, they are people, too, and they appreciate the encouragement and appreciation. And speak out against the Defund the Police movement. This sort of demonization of cops foments more murders of police officers.

6) What can communities do to help stem the rise in violence and support our thin blue line?

Answer: Visit www.investusa.org to see how to help get active shooter vests to police who need them for protection. The vast majority of communities either do not provide active-shooter vests to their officers, or they issue vests that are not strong enough against modern firepower on the streets

His national non-profit, charitable organization is based in Columbia, South Carolina, helping hundreds of communities provide thousands of bulletproof vests for their police forces through educational, public relations, sponsorship, and fundraising programs.
