The Epoch Times’ Nan Su discusses the report, and what implications it could have for the current struggle between the U.S. and China.
Even though the COVID-19 epidemic has calmed immensely over the years, there’s still discussion surrounding how it came about – but a new report may have put a spotlight on what occurred.
Based on the report, Chao Shan, a top researcher from China’s Wuhan Institute of Virology, recently turned whistleblower on the operation, noting that the laboratory “engineered” COVID-19 as a “bioweapon.”
During an interview with Asian News International, Shan discussed his findings, including how they tie in with China and its Chinese Communist Party (CCP).
When working in the lab, Shan noted that he and his colleagues were given the daunting task of identifying the most “effective” strain that could be used against humans. He notes that the lab was given orders to treat it as said “bioweapon.”

- First off, how legitimate do you believe this report is? Between the information that Shan provided and the fact most of his colleagues have since vanished should definitely be of some concern.
- How would China benefit from creating a virus such as COVID-19? Causing worldwide panic? Establishing a greater power?
- It seems that, for a while there, China had a huge COVID epidemic, with the CCP barely doing anything to contain it. Are you surprised by this now that you’ve read this report? Or does it seem like something the CCP would do?
- Do you believe the CCP will react to this report? And if so, is Shen possibly in danger?
