Antisemitic protestors took to the University of Texas campus only to find the police quickly on the scene removing those who don’t follow the rules of peaceful protest. University of Texas at Austin President Jay Hartzell released a statement Wednesday that said “The group that led this protest stated it was going to violate Institutional Rules. Our rules matter, and they will be enforced. Our University will not be occupied.”
As the unruly UT students yelled “pigs go home,” dozens were arrested as riot police stormed the campus and quickly took control of the situation. Texas Governor Greg Abbot, a Republican, added “Antisemitism will not be tolerated in Texas. Period. Students joining in hate-filled, antisemitic protests at any public college or university in Texas should be expelled.”
