On Tuesday, the U.S. Supreme Court will hear a case that questions the dangers of mifepristone: the abortion drug. The Food and Drug Administration is accused of overlooking serious safety problems as they have loosened regulations over the years.
With pro-life states making abortion more difficult to access, the drug has become increasingly popular. There were over a million abortions last year alone – and mifepristone is given much of the credit. Over 60 percent of abortions last year were done through medication.
The Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals ruled the FDA failed to follow proper procedures when loosening regulations. The Biden administration and the manufacturer of the drug are hoping the Supreme Court will reverse that ruling.
Joining us now is Rev. Jim Harden, CEO for CompassCare, which runs several pregnancy centers across the United States.
