Treasure Secretary Janet Yellen Has Deemed the United States’ Inflation “Unacceptable” – But Hasn’t Really Offered Any Solutions For It (Guest: Birch Gold)

As inflation continues to roll through the United States over the course of the summer, many citizens are looking to the government for relief. Treasure Secretary Janet Yellen recently discussed these complaints, noting that the country currently faces “unacceptable” odds.

“We currently face macroeconomic challenges, including unacceptable levels of inflation as well as the headwinds associated with the disruptions caused by the pandemic’s effect on supply chains, and the effects of supply side disturbances to oil and food markets resulting from Russia’s war in Ukraine,” said Yellen in a recent statement to the Senate Finance Committee.

While she did note that President Joe Biden’s proposed spending legislation could ease the burden of inflation for some, she didn’t offer too many solutions outside of that. “To dampen inflationary pressures without undermining the strength of the labor market an appropriate budgetary stance is needed to complement monetary policy actions by the Federal Reserve.”

Joining us now to speak on Yellen’s somewhat inconclusive comments is a representative for Birch Gold Group, discussing the state of the economy further. (This could be either Brett Winterble or Dr. Ron Paul.)

Q&A:

  1. What is your biggest takeaway from Yellen’s comments about the state of current inflation?
  2. Do you find it a bit odd she didn’t offer any long-term solutions to resolving inflation? Or does it sound about right when it comes to President Biden’s proposed spending legislation?
  3. There’s discussion that a potential recession could take place in early 2023 if the inflation matter isn’t resolved. How do you believe this will affect most Americans?
  4. Do you see matters getting worse when it comes to inflation, or do you believe improvements could be made as far as suppliers go?
  5. Birch Gold Group is a company that specializes in tangible assets, including gold and silver. Do you believe that now is as good a time as any to invest in these metals and try to secure better savings for the future?
  6. Where can we learn more about Birch Gold Group, gold IRAs, and other services provided by Birch Gold.
