The Washington Post Is In Serious Trouble Over Its “Pull Piece” Surrounding a Palestinian Terror Cell (Guest: David Rubin)

The former Mayor of Shiloh discusses the damaging article, and the fallout that could come from it.

In an effort to keep up on online readership, some news outlets are tackling controversial subjects. However, the Washington Post may have reached an all new low with one of its latest pieces.

It recently published a piece headlined Tomorrow’s Martyrs, taking a close at a Palestinian militant cell in the West Bank. Steve Hendrix, who wrote the piece, discussed his experience with the al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigade, who both the United States and Israel consider a terrorist group.

Hendrix followed the group for three days, detailing his experience alongside photographer Lorenzo Tugnoli. He noted how the ongoing raids and mayhem in Israel resulted in West Bank fighters, like the Martyrs, having no choice but to raise arms. “(T)here are no innocent Israelis…they kill our women and children. We will do the same.”

But upon its publication, which painted these terrorists in a sympathetic light, critics have denounced the piece, noting that the Washington Post is spreading anti-Israel “propaganda” and noting its continuation to have a “double standard for covering terrorist groups.”

“Leftist American newspapers despise Israel so much that they can’t help themselves from giving sympathetic coverage to suicide bombers and terrorists under the guise of ‘showing both sides,'” Rep. Rich McCormick, R-Ga., recently wrote in response.

Joining us now to discuss this further is David Rubin, the former Mayor of Shiloh in the West Bank, Israel. Mayor Rubin, a respected leader in the region, has been actively working towards peace and security for his community. In light of recent events, including the counterterrorism efforts in the city of Jenin, where Israeli forces targeted militant fighters, it is crucial to gain Mayor Rubin’s perspective on the challenges faced and the path to stability. His expertise will be quite useful in this matter.
