The Supreme Court Is Poised To Knock Down a Federal Law the Biden Administration Has Been Using Against Trump and Jan. 6 Defendants (Guest: Michael Letts)

The founder of InVest USA and law enforcement discusses how the Court could stop prosecutions against attendees of the January 6th “insurrection.”

After seeing a number of cases where January 6th “insurrectionists” were charged over their opinions of the 2020 Presidential Election, the Supreme Court appears set to reverse a law that the Biden Administration has been using heavily against them.

According to The Epoch Times, legal experts note that the Supreme Court is ready to knock down 18 U.S. Code Section 1512©, which many believe is being used improperly against those defendants.

It states, “Whoever corruptly (1) alters, destroys, mutilates, or conceals a record, document, or other object, or attempts to do so, with the intent to impair the object’s integrity or availability for use in an official proceeding; or (2) otherwise obstructs, influences, or impedes any official proceeding or attempts to do so, shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than 20 years, or both.”

If overturned, a majority of their charges – including ones levied against former President Donald Trump – could be thrown out.

These same experts believe that Biden is utilizing the accounting reform law to charge the January 6th attendees, which the Department of Justice is using to charge people that were merely exercising their First Amendment rights when it came to certification.

Jim Burling, who serves as vice president of legal affairs for the Pacific Legal Foundation (PLF) called said charges “utterly absurd,” noting, “The Department of Justice should get an award for creativity and … [for] how they’ve come up with ways of using Sarbanes-Oxley well beyond what anybody ever thought it would be [used for].”

And while many argue that some January 6th “insurrectionists” are merely getting “what’s coming to them,” the letter of the law must be followed. Joining us now to discuss this further is Michael Letts, a law enforcement veteran with over 30 years of experience under his belt.

Letts is President, Founder and CEO of InVest USA, an organization that provides bulletproof vests to police officers through various charitable groups and sponsorships. Letts’ expertise in law and order make him an ideal subject for this interview. Welcome, Michael!

Q&A:

  1. You’ve always spoken in defense of the so-called “insurrectionists” that went to the Capitol on January 6th. Do you believe their rights are being heavily violated?
  2. What about those that would argue that these “insurrectionists” had violent means in mind, and are “getting what they deserve,” so to speak?
  3. Do you believe the Biden Administration and the Department of Justice are truly abusing the law to improperly prosecute these people?
  4. Is it possible that arguments could arise from the Supreme Court possibly knocking down the Federal law? Particularly from the Biden administration?
  5. If Biden did indeed abuse the law when it came to charging these suspects, could that potentially have an effect on his re-election campaign?
  6. You’re the creator of InVest USA, an organization that provides bulletproof vests to police officers through various charitable groups and sponsorships. Tell us more about that, and why support for fellow officers is so important right now.
  7. Where can we learn more about InVest USA, and how those interested can help their fellow officers.
  8. You can visit our official InVest USA website, and learn more on the official Invest USA Twitter account. You can also learn about my new initiative at RestoringJustice.US, where we discuss lawful issues surrounding citizens of the United States.
