The Second Amendment Cashed Out By Banks?

A spokesman for the Gun Owners of America discusses why banks are suddenly targeting gun makers and retailers in an effort to please activists.

Over the past few months, banks have slowly but surely been making moves against gun manufacturers and retailers, in an effort to please the anti-gun activists that do business with them. But now, it’s reached a full tilt boil.

Some of the biggest banks in the United States, including JPMorgan Chase and Bank of America have been pushing against these businesses, debanking and discriminating against them unfairly. They’ve all out refused to provide banking services, going against their very business practice.

And why? It’s simple. They’re leaning more towards their self-imposed “values-based” policies, leaning more towards the way of anti-gun consumers that do business with them.

The Gun Owners of America have spoken vehemently against this, finding their practice absolutely unfair. “Their brazen actions have forced many gun businesses and organizations to turn to smaller regional banks, unable to operate with any certainty. This political discrimination isn’t just ideological. It’s a direct attack on our freedoms, our businesses, and our way of life.”

A spokesman for the group – either Mark Jones or Stephen Willeford – joins us now to discuss the situation further. We welcome them to the show.

Q&A:

  1. First off, are banks allowed to perform this type of discrimination against businesses? Do they have the right to follow their “values-based” policies?
  2. Why do you believe they’re engaging in this practice? To please their other consumers? Or perhaps key investors?
  3. What kind of chaos has this imposed on gun manufacturers and retailers who are simply trying to keep up on their ends of business?
  4. What does President Donald Trump think about these practices? Has he done anything against them?
  5. How can concerned business owners and gun rights believers fight back against these decisions by these banks?
  6. FOR STEPHEN: You recently wrote a book called A Town Called Sutherland Springs: Faith and Heroism Through Tragedy, revolving around your 2017 “hero with a gun” situation. Tell us more about how this came together, and why it’s such an important read right now.
  7. FOR STEPHEN: Where can people find your book?
  8. You can purchase the book here on Amazon, both in paperback and Kindle format.
  9. FOR MARK: Tell us more about the Hunter Outreach program.
