The GOP-Led House Judiciary Committee Is Holding a Field Hearing In Manhattan – And Alvin Bragg Isn’t Happy (Guest: Michael Letts)

Law enforcement veteran Michael Letts applauds the Committee’s decision to take a closer look at the actions surrounding the District Attorney.

The actions of Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg surrounding the indictment of former President Donald Trump has certainly left mixed opinion. But now the GOP-led House Judiciary Committee is ready to do something about it.

The Committee has confirmed that it will hold a panel in Manhattan on April 17, titled “Victims of Violent Crime In Manhattan.” With it, the team will focus on “how Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg’s pro-crime, anti-victim policies have led to an increase in violent crime and a dangerous community for New York City residents,” according to Committee Member Rep. Jim Jordan (R., Ohio).

There’s no word if Trump’s indictment will come up in the discussion, but it may surface considering the focus of the panel is to point out Bragg’s errors in his District Attorney role.

Bragg was quick to push back, noting per a spokesperson, ” “Don’t be fooled, the House GOP is coming to the safest big city in America for a political stunt,” a spokesperson for Bragg stated after the announcement of the panel.

With us now to discuss the potential impact of this Committee panel is Michael Letts, a law enforcement veteran with over 30 years of experience under his belt. Letts is currently President, Founder and CEO of InVest USA, a group that provides bulletproof vests to police officers through various sponsorships and charitable organizations. His expertise will prove useful in this matter.

Q&A:

  1. Right from the start, you were quick to note that Bragg’s indictment charges against former President Trump didn’t really hold water to begin with. Why do you believe that?
  2. Do you think the Committee meeting in Manhattan to discuss Bragg’s actions make sense? Especially when it comes to questioning his credibility as District Attorney for the city?
  3. New York City has seen a massive rise in crime over the past couple of years, mainly due to police abandoning their jobs for something much safer. Along with Bragg, who do you believe the blame lies with?
  4. Is there any way to resolve the criminal situation at the moment? Would the city be wise to rehire the police officers it viciously fired back in 2020 for refusal to take the COVID vaccine?
  5. What do you think we’ll possibly learn from the Committee’s panel? Could there be something there that would be used against Bragg’s indictment order against Trump?
  6. You’re the creator of InVest USA, an organization that provides bulletproof vests to police officers through various charitable groups and sponsorships. Tell us more about that, and why support for fellow officers is so important right now.
  7. Where can we learn more about InVest USA, and how those interested can help their fellow officers.
