The group’s founder, Jonathan Feldstein, explains why they’re looking to make a difference, especially with a ceasefire being unlikely.
As the war between Hamas and Israel wages on, many are asking about the personal toll that’s being taken with citizens.
Though a number have managed to evacuate and find safe haven, others weren’t so lucky. Thousands have been killed in the midst of this war; and there are several that have been taken hostage by Hamas, being held aside as bargaining chips.
With that, Jonathan Feldstein has decided to take matters into his own hands. His group, the Genesis 123 Foundation, recently launched a petition to free the hostages, in an effort to save so many lives that are at stake.
“We urge you to continue every humanitarian effort for visitation and any medical attention required of the hostages by the United Nations, The International Red Cross, and other humanitarian world bodies, immediately.,” the petition notes.
“We, citizens of the free world, ask that you stand up and be counted clearly among the civilized people of the world and speak truth in every platform possible, every media and mode of communication to denounce the darkest manifestation of evil in kidnapping hostages, without moral equivalence or ambiguity, and to demand and work relentlessly for the release of all hostages immediately. We ask that you do so on behalf of the hostages, their families, morality, and recognizing that failure to do so may mean our nations will be next if we do not stand strong.”
Feldstein joins us now to discuss the importance of the petition, as well as what others can do to help.
- First off, what prompted you to begin this petition? Were you just saddened to see what was happening to innocent people in this time of war?
- Do you believe it’s pointless asking Israel to participate in any kind of ceasefire? Or could there be some kind of hope to still request it.
- Where do you see the conflict going in the months ahead? Will the situation get worse before it gets better?
- We understand you’re also taking donations to the Emergency Campaign as well. How would these help people? Would they provide food and shelter as needed? Perhaps more?
- What can our viewers (or listeners) do to help you support these precious people that have been displaced by the war?
- Tell us about the Genesis 123 Foundation.
- Answer: It is a nonprofit whose mission is to build bridges between Jews and Christians with Israel in ways that are new, unique, and meaningful.
- Where may we find more information on your organization, the Genesis 123 foundation?
