The future of Artificial Intelligence with COVID-19

Guest Dr. Dan O’Brien MD is in St. Louis in Central Time

Intro: Even before the COVID-19 Pandemic, we heard a lot about Artificial Intelligence. But in our current COVID-19 Era, we’re hearing even more about AI, especially as to how it can be used in medical diagnosis and even in predictive medicine, as in will there be another COVID-19 outbreak this coming Fall.

Joining us in this discussion is Dr. Dan O’Brien MD who is a medical futurist and can share the latest in how Artificial Intelligence may help us in the fight against Covid-19.

Q&A:

Dr. Dan question #1: How can Artificial Intelligence, or A.I., help with COVID-19?

Dr. answer: A.I is becoming an important technology especially during COVID-19. This will change the landscape of healthcare including for the way doctors care for patients.

Dr. Dan question #2: What specifically can A.I do in regards to looking at the data to predict the second wave or another pandemic?

Dr. Dan answer: A.I can help us with organizing data that is being collected. A.I is another tool for clinicians to use in order to organize data and augment this data from previous pandemic outbreaks to make more informed decisions in the future.

Dr. Dan question #3: Can A.I help guide future medical decisions?

Dr. Dan question #4: Can A.I provide real time results?

Dr. Dan answer: Yes, A.I can be another tool to help guide physicians particularly as we move closer to precision medicine and A.I can look at real time data, and help the doctor provide the proper recommendations including important information regarding their medications.

Dr. Dan question #5: Will A.I help change a doctors’ care paradigm?

Dr. Dan answer: Yes, this is the new normal in healthcare, and A.I provides another real time tool to organize the data in order to help the government, public health officials, and doctors the ability to make more informed decisions. A.I will allow doctors to make decisions in a proactive way and inform them to make a more accurate diagnosis and treatment plan.

Dr Dan question #6: Where may we get more information on you and articles you have written on COVID-19?
