Director Kevin Stocklin discusses the film, taking a closer look at what’s driving the multi-trillion dollar industry.
In the face of growing inflation and a pending recession, one industry continues to churn out a great deal of money – ESG, or Environmental, Social and Governance.
The Epoch Times has just released a new documentary, The Shadow State, which takes a closer look at the industry as a whole, and whether it’s set to serve a greater purpose – or set to bring things to a new low with shortages and poverty.
It features a number of interviews with insiders, corporate leaders and industry analysts, getting a closer look at the power movers within said industry, and how it operates. More importantly, it also takes a closer look at potential clashes, such as the one currently growing between Elon Musk and Apple.
Here to speak to us further is the director of the documentary, Kevin Stocklin. He also serves as writer, film producer and a former investment banker. He had previously produced the 2008 documentary We All Fall Down: The American Mortgage Crisis, a 2008 film that examined the collapse of the U.S. mortgage finance system.
Q&A:
- It seems a little mind-boggling that the ESG industry continues to generate huge money following what took place with COVID and what’s currently happening with inflation. What do you think is making business boom so much?
- Who would you say are the biggest power players in the industry? What could they stand to gain or lose based upon their business decisions?
- Do you believe the industry could be affected by the potential recession set to take place in 2023? Or will it simply find ways to “keep the money going,” as it were?
- What do you think people will take away from watching The Shadow State? A better understanding of how the ESG industry works? Perhaps something more?
- Right off the bat, the documentary discusses how we’re headed for a climate disaster. Do you think there’s any hope for pulling away from that? Or could things get worse?
- Where can interested people view The Shadow State and learn more about it?
The Shadow State is currently available for viewing on Epoch TV, and free to subscribers.
