New York State Quietly Ignores Pro-life Investigation Legislation Requirements Fearing Findings Could Damage Abortion Industry (Guest: Jim Harden)

CompassCare CEO Jim Harden notes that Gov. Kathy Hochul’s inability to assign people to investigate pro-life centers could result in legal issues surrounding abortion clinics.

New York’s inability to follow through on legislation investigating pro-life pregnancy centers fearing revelations could end up damaging abortion clinics instead.

Back in June, New York Gov. Kathy Hochul passed a law to investigate pro-life pregnancy centers in the midst of heated attacks that were coming against them, including the firebombing of a CompassCare location in Buffalo. At the time, Gov. Kathy Hochul along with the Speaker of the Assembly and President of the Senate was supposed to assign nine commissioners to gather information for a report complete with policy recommendations to further regulate pro-life activity.

However, the deadline to assign these commissioners is December 13th (today), and there’s no word on Hochul’s choices – not even at the last minute. As a result of the failure to meet the deadline, the legislation may be dead.

It is unlikely that the pro-abortion Governor and legislature had a change of heart regarding Christian pro-life pregnancy centers. In fact, Hochul’s at the signing of the investigation legislation on June 13, she referred to pro-life men, women, and children as subhuman, calling us “Neanderthals.” What’s more, what’s happening with the legislation seems to align with those on the pro-abortion side of the argument, namely Jane’s Revenge – a group that has claimed responsibility for the aforementioned Buffalo CompassCare firebombing (to which no one has been arrested yet).

Rev. Jim Harden, the CEO of CompassCare, noted, “Perhaps pro-abortion politicians in America’s Abortion Empire State fear a battle with pro-life pregnancy centers will expose the crimes of the abortion industry and those who conspire to promote and protect it.” Harden (or CompassCare advancement manager Daniel Tomlinson) joins us now to discuss this topic further, and why it could lead to big trouble in 2023.

Q&A:

  1. Why does this matter in [insert state]?
  2. Why do you think that Gov. Hochul and her team haven’t selected the commissioners for this legislation yet? Are they simply looking to “let it slide”?
  3. How frustrated are you that the legislature sought to perform thorough investigation of peaceful pro-life pregnancy centers who have never been accused of a crime while state health department is required to audit abortionists but refuse to do so?
  4. Why do you think Hochul thinks pro-lifers are “Neanderthals”? Is it just that their way of thinking doesn’t align with her agenda? Something else?
  5. Where do you think the pro-life/pro-abortion argument will go in 2023? Could we see more violent acts from Jane’s Revenge against pro-life centers, you think?
  6. Where do you see CompassCare going in the new year? Based on previous reports, you’ve already provided millions of dollars in services to families.
  7. Where can we learn more about CompassCare and its services?
