The Citizens Committee for the Right To Keep and Bear Arms Calls Out President Biden and Democrats, Noting “Dishonesty” From Raleigh Shooting (Guest: Second Amendment)

A representative from Second Amendment Foundation elaborates further on the statement from the pro-gun group.

Following the tragic shooting that took place in Raleigh over the weekend – resulting in the deaths of five people – the Citizens Committee for the Right to Keep and Bear Arms (or CCRKBA for short) sounded off on President Joe Biden for his re-commitment on potentially passing a ban against assault weapons.

Alan Gottlieb, Chairman for the CCRKBA, noted, “Even before the investigation had really started (in Raleigh), Democrat politicians were clamoring for more gun control. Biden quickly renewed his crusade for a ban on ‘assault weapons’ and others followed his lead. To exploit such tragedies by immediately calling for additional gun control laws that would not have prevented this crime, and will not prevent other crimes, is the height of intellectual dishonesty.”

He continued, “It is this kind of callous capitalization that drives gun owners away from voting for Democrats. The party and its president have once again revealed they will use any tragedy to promote their agenda of public disarmament.”

For that matter, Gottlieb also blamed the press for “sensationalizing” what took place in Raleigh. “Report after report used terms straight out of the gun grabber’s dictionary—gun safety and gun reform, for example—when they are really talking about gun prohibition.”

Joining us now is a Second Amendment Foundation spokesperson, talking about what they feel is a stronger alternative to a gun ban – passing a nationwide law to allow for select citizens to Constitutional-carry.

Q&A:

  1. Why do you believe that Constitutional-carry would be a greater alternative to Biden’s proposed gun ban?
  2. There are some stating that the gun ban would be ineffective, mainly because people still have easy access to purchasing weapons in pawn shops and through online retailers. Do you believe this is the case?
  3. You previously spoke about a report indicating the FBI was reportedly dwindling the effectiveness numbers of Constitutional-carry citizens against active shooter types. Why do you believe they’re doing this?
  4. Why do you think Biden is pushing so hard to get assault weapons banned? Is it something to keep him popular with his administration and followers, or something else?
  5. In your eyes, how have private gun owners responded when it comes to Biden’s demand to get a ban passed against assault weapons?
  6. If someone argues that a gun ban would make a difference, what points would you like to make in reply?
  7. Where can we learn more about the Second Amendment Foundation and its members?
