The producer and host of the documentary BorderWars discusses just how bad things are at the border – and wonders why President Biden isn’t doing more.
The border crisis has reached a crippling point – and many are wondering why President Joe Biden isn’t putting more effort into resolving it.
For months, thousands of migrants, or “gotaways,” have managed to slip into this country. And what’s worse, many have actually been manipulating American citizens. Some have even done the unthinkable, taking a quick payment to help others cross the border or attain other goods. Others have also been kidnapped in an effort to be “groomed.”
And yet, despite all that’s happening, nothing has really been done to fix what’s happening on the Biden administration’s part. Gov. Greg Abbott has stepped up in an effort to secure the southern Border in Texas, but, to the surprise of many, Biden’s administration has demanded they take down their defenses.
So what does it take? What understanding needs to be put in place to convince Biden just how bad the border crisis has become?
Joining us now to discuss this further is Nicole McCaw, a host and producer with NTD Television. She currently serves as producer and host for BorderWars, a new documentary that follows her and her crew as they look at the trials and tribulations occurring at the U.S./Mexico border. - When it comes to the border crisis, who is to blame? Is it President Biden and his administration, or are there other potential sources?
- You’ve seen quite a bit happen at the U.S./Mexico border over the past couple of years. If you can, can you tell us about the worst things you’ve seen during your time there?
- How has it become so easy for Americans to be so easily manipulated into helping migrants at the border?
- Some have even attempted to take a large cash payout for assisting migrants. Has the economy really become so bad that they’re willing to risk incarceration for a quick payday?
- What can Biden – or for that matter, anyone – do in an effort to stop the border crisis? Or is it too late?
- Let’s talk about your documentary BorderWars. What motivated you to work on this? What would you say the biggest challenge was in getting it made?
