The law enforcement veteran discusses the tragic event, and what steps need to be taken in an effort to stop it from happening again.
Another tragic school shooting has taken place, this time in the small town of Winder, Georgia.
A 14-year old managed to bring an assault weapon into his school, killing two students and two teachers as a result. Police have apprehended the suspect, Colt Gray, and have also pressed charges against his father, Colin Gray, who had given the gun to his son as a holiday gift.
The “active shooter” event has sent shockwaves across the community. Barrow County schools will close down for the remainder of the week, and events, such as an upcoming football game, have been cancelled. Many are wondering how they can move on following the incident.
“I really don’t want to go back,” noted 14-year old Macey Right. “I feel like I shouldn’t have to go back to school worrying about dying.”
So what can be done about this? Joining us to discuss the matter further is Michael Letts, a law enforcement veteran with over 30 years of experience under his belt. Michael is President, Founder and CEO of InVest USA, an organization that provides bulletproof vests to police officers through a variety of programs.

- Why are angry young people taking part in shootings such as this? Is it a lack of mental care from their parents, or something else that’s driving them to such violence?

- This is the latest school shooting, the 45th this year and the deadliest since the March 2023 shooting at the Covenant School in Nashville. What does that say about the necessity of safety within our school system?
