Washington State Judge Rules High-Capacity Magazine Ban is Unconstitutional

Cowlitz County Superior Court Judge Gary Bashor ruled the 2022 ban on sales of magazines holding more than 10 rounds violates the state and U.S. constitutions. Bashor explained “There was no appetite to limit gun rights by the Founders.” Washington’s attorney general, who is running for governor, appealed to the state Supreme Court, which quickly granted an emergency stay.
