Time’s Up for TikTok (Guest: Levi Browde)

Unanimous Supreme Court Ruling Points to Awakening of America to Threat of Chinese Communist Party

The recent Supreme Court ruling upholding the ban on TikTok marks a turning point in America’s understanding of the Chinese Communist Party’s (CCP) far-reaching influence on our freedoms. This decision is more than just a policy against a social media app—it is a wake-up call to the insidious ways in which the CCP seeks to manipulate, control, and intimidate not only its own people but also those of us here in the United States.

For years, many dismissed concerns over the CCP’s influence in America as paranoia. But now, as more Americans recognize the Party’s direct interference in our digital spaces, the conversation has shifted. People are finally seeing how the CCP attempts to dictate what we can and cannot watch, whether through the algorithms of a social media platform or through outright intimidation of those who dare to speak out.

Shen Yun Performing Arts, which celebrates China’s divinely inspired culture, has been one of the CCP’s prime targets. The harassment we face in attempting to perform across the U.S. is part of the Party’s larger effort to silence dissent and control narratives beyond China’s borders.

The CCP does not just seek to dominate discourse within its own country—it aims to extend its reach internationally, suppressing anything that contradicts its ideology. TikTok is just one facet of this broader campaign. It is a tool of influence that not only collects data on millions of Americans but also carefully curates content to align with the Party’s interests. Many have ignored the risks associated with the app, but the Supreme Court’s ruling represents a shift in national consciousness. Americans are beginning to push back.

However, the CCP’s efforts go far beyond social media. The Party’s transnational repression extends into areas many would not expect—our movie theaters, our college campuses, and our performance halls. Perhaps the biggest battle now is over Shen Yun, a classical Chinese dance company that has been a particular thorn in the CCP’s side. The Party has used diplomatic pressure, economic coercion, and even direct threats to prevent our performances from taking place. Venues across the country have received intimidation attempts, urging them to cancel our shows. Theater owners have been harassed, and our buses have even been vandalized. These tactics reveal just how far the CCP is willing to go to suppress voices it cannot control.

America’s pushback against TikTok is part of a much larger awakening. It is not just about an app but about a fundamental defense of freedom. The Communist Party’s transnational repression threatens the very principles that America stands for—free speech, artistic expression, and open discourse. When the CCP seeks to control our theaters, our entertainment, and our cultural celebrations, we must recognize it as an attack on our freedoms, not just theirs.

The fight against CCP influence in America does not end with TikTok. It must continue with an unwavering commitment to exposing and countering all forms of interference. Shen Yun represents a cultural and moral battleground where the CCP seeks to assert its will—but Americans must stand firm in defending the right to perform, to watch, and to speak freely. The Supreme Court ruling is a step in the right direction. The question now is: Will we continue to resist, or will we allow the CCP to dictate what we can and cannot see?

A spokesperson for the group joins us now to discuss the matter further. We welcome them to the show!
