Jews Take to the Streets to Support Terrorists
As the world learned that six more Israeli hostages taken captive on October 7th were found dead, thousands of Israelis have taken to the streets. Applying logic, you might think that the protests are intended to denounce Hamas and demand that the Jewish government destroy the Muslim Brotherhood’s Palestine wing.
However, you’d be wrong. The protesters are demanding a ceasefire from their government. David Rubin, who knows a thing or two about terrorism—having been a victim of it himself—resides in Israel and is calling out the protesters. “The protests were illegal and treasonous,” says Rubin. “This will not happen, since most of the country is against allowing Hamas to rearm and repeat the October 7th attacks.” Also available for interviews is Pastor Mark Biltz, author of America at War 2024-2026. Biltz has been studying the Middle East for years and provides a cutting-edge analysis of the forces at work in the region.
The reaction of the protesters is extremely curious, and smacks of a condition known as Stockholm Syndrome, which was identified in the early 1970s as a flawed survival technique where hostages align with their captors against those who are trying to rescue them. In this case, the protesters appear to be aligning themselves with the very entities that pose a grave threat to their survival. This phenomenon raises troubling questions about the psychological impact of prolonged conflict and the desperate measures people might adopt in the face of existential threats.
The situation underscores a dangerous distortion of rationality in which the impulse to end immediate suffering overshadows the necessity of confronting and neutralizing threats. Rubin’s insights reveal a critical challenge for Israeli society: balancing the urgent need for security with the psychological complexities influencing public sentiment.
