Silencers Making Noise (Guest: GOA Spokesman)

House Bill Removes Tax and Registration on Firearm Suppressors; Senate Better not Play Deaf

A spokesman for the Gun Owners of America explains why the House deserves praise – and what the Senate can do to give gun owners relief.

A spokesman for Gun Owners of America breaks down why freedom-loving Americans should be cheering—and why the Senate better lock, load, and follow through.

It’s not quiet anymore—at long last, the silencer shackles are coming off.

Thanks to the Constitutional Hearing Protection Act (CHPA), the House has dropped a legislative bombshell: a budget reconciliation package that finally torpedoes the absurd $200 tax and mandatory registration for firearm suppressors—more truthfully known as silencers.

This isn’t just a win for gun rights. It’s a loud, clear rebuke of the outdated and unconstitutional National Firearms Act of 1934. Silencers, long demonized and overregulated, are about to make a legal comeback—unregistered, untaxed, and uncuffed.

Gun Owners of America (GOA), a relentless defender of the Second Amendment, is blasting this as a major win for gun owners across the country. But they’re not taking the safety off just yet.

“The silencer tax is dead—but tyranny isn’t,” said Erich Pratt, Senior Vice President of GOA. “Thanks to Rep. Andrew Clyde, liberty just took a big step forward. But now the Senate must finish the job. Gun owners are still saddled with the unconstitutional NFA shackles on short-barreled rifles. It’s time the Senate sends those regs to the scrap heap—just like Trump promised when he took on Biden’s Pistol Brace Ban.”

A spokesman for Gun Owners of America joins us to discuss why this fight isn’t over until every NFA relic is silenced for good. A spokesman for the Gun Owners of America joins us now to discuss this further. We welcome them to the show!
