Shootings, Hate Crimes & Violence on the Rise Weaken Biden’s Gun Control Push – Creating Opportunity for pro-Second Amendment Crime-fighting Candidates in 2022

Bloody Independence Day weekend leave 150 dead in 400 shootings nationwide.

NYC hate crimes rose by 139% in the first six months of 2021.

Nearly 100 people shot—including 13 kids, during Independence Day holiday weekend in Chicago—a city with the strictest gun laws in Illinois, if not the country.

Is it any coincidence that the rise in violent crime and anti-Second Amendment sentiment in some of America’s largest cities are all run by the Democrats?” states SAF founder and Executive Vice President Alan Gottlieb.

The NY Post reported that hate-related offenses against Asians surged by 400 percent this year while hate crimes against other groups and individuals increased from 134 incidents this same time in 2020 to 320 incidents so far this year. Independence Day stats can be found on the Gun Violence Archive.

The Chicago Sun Times listed 19 of the 98 victims that died as a result of their injuries over the July 4th holiday weekend, including 13 kids who were wounded. The Times is also reporting that their database has recorded 2,000 shootings this year as of Monday, July 5, 2021. One Chicago Alderman is calling it ‘a war zone.’

Record purchases of guns and ammo were recorded during the pandemic, but with the continued efforts of the Biden administration pushing to defund the police and massive surge in shootings and violent crimes in America’s biggest cities will hurt Democrats down ballot in 2022,” said Gottlieb.

Under the Biden administration the Second Amendment remains a top target of the Democrats and members of Congress, which has put gun rights at the top of the political issues list for voters on both sides of the aisle. Candidates and incumbents are taking notice of the rise of gun ownership and passing of pro-Second Amendment legislation around the country.

  • What are some of the campaigns, cases, and initiatives the Second Amendment Foundation is involved in right now?
