The Biden administration’s decision to abstain from a UN vote calling for an Israeli cease-fire has some pro-Israel Democrats speaking out. Senator John Fetterman and Rep. Josh Gottheimer are among the Democrats who have publicly expressed outrage at the decision of the White House. When the U.N. Security Council resolution called for a cease-fire, Israel wanted the United States to do what it would normally do in such circumstances: veto the resolution. Instead, the White House abstained then followed it up with harsh words for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
On Tuesday, a resolution was introduced in the House that states “any resolution of the Israeli-Hamas conflict should take place only with the full cooperation and approval of Israel at each step of the process.”
Joining us now to discuss this controversy is David Rubin, the former Mayor of Shiloh Israel. Welcome, David.
