Say it Ain’t So! Please say This is just Fake News!

Sorry, but Newsweek Magazine says Dr. Fauci may be Responsible for the Start of the COVID-19 Pandemic!

Intro: Had this news been broken by anyone other than a decades-old well-trusted news magazine like Newsweek, this next story might be relegated in the circular bin, labeled fake news. But Newsweek has just reported that none other than Dr. Anthony Fauci from the National Institute for Allergy and Infections disease actually supported the Wuhan China lab with $7.4 million U.S. dollars for Coronavirus research prior to the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic! Our guest, Dr. Dan O’Brien MD, is here to give us some historical and medical background on what may have been the biggest accident in the history of the United States and perhaps on planet earth.

Q&A:

Dr. Dan question #1: Dr. Dan, thanks for joining us. Let me just jump right in for a direct question and hopefully your direct answer. Did or did not Dr. Fauci actually support the Wuhan, China virus-testing laboratory with millions of U.S dollars for Coronavirus research prior to the beginning of pandemic?

Dr. Dan answer: Yes, according to Newsweek Magazine, last year the National Institute for Allergy and Infectious disease funded scientists at the Wuhan Institute of Virology for work on gain of function research on bat coronavirus.

Dr. Dan question #2: What is gain of function research?

Dr. Dan answer: Gain of function is research that aims to improve understanding of disease-causing agents, their interaction with human hosts, and their potential to cause pandemics.

Dr. Dan question #3: Could this gain of function research project at the Wuhan Lab have accidentally started the pandemic?

Dr. Dan answer: Yes, this could have accidentally started the pandemic because as scientists manipulated viruses in the Wuhan lab to explore the potential to infect humans this may have caused the pandemic. Gain of function research was conducted in the lab to look at disease causing agents that could cause a pandemic and sure enough the pandemic occurred. Thus, I am confident that it started in the Wuhan lab with this data.

Dr. Dan question #4:  What was the Wuhan Lab project description of the research in the laboratory?

Dr. Dan answer:  They used S protein sequence data, infectious clone technology, in vitro and in vivo infection experiments and analysis of receptor binding to test the hypothesis that percent divergence thresholds in S protein sequences predict spillover potential.  Spillover refers to the ability of a virus to jump from animals to humans which requires that the virus be able to attach to the receptors in the cells of humans

Dr. Dan question #5: Has COVID-19 been shown to bind to receptors in the human lungs and other organs, which thus could explain COVID-19 severe symptoms of attacking the lungs?

Dr. Dan answer: Yes, exactly. COVID-19 is adept at binding to the ACE2 receptor in human lungs, and we know that in those individuals who were impacted the most and even died, their the lungs were mostly affected.

Dr Dan question #6: Where may we get more information on you and articles you have written on COVID-19?

Dr. Dan answer: At DrDanMd.com or on Twitter @DrDanMd1
