Marty Roberts and Jimmy Womble explain why it’s so vital to have an entertainment like this out right now.
There are a number of movies in theaters right now, offering a variety of entertainment such as horror, science fiction, comedy and adventure. That said, there seems to be a shortage of a certain kind of movie – Christian themed dramas.
While there have been notable releases over the years, such as I Still Believe, they are too few and far between. And that motivated co-writers/directors Marty Roberts and Jimmy Womble to make Running the Bases, a new drama that talks about a baseball coach finding conflict with his Christianity as he attempts to lead a high school team to victory.
With the movie, Marty and Jimmy hoped to strike a tone with audiences, motivating them with true themes while, at the same time, delivering an entertainment that’s a joy for the whole family. They join us now to discuss the film, and why its arrival in theaters – especially at this point in time – is an important one.
