Property Cursed, Killer Secrets: 2 Experts

Demonic Deeds: When the Property’s History is Written in Blood, Sunlight the Best Disinfectant

A Tennessee property with a reputation for being cursed became the setting for chilling murder cases involving a missing husband, a dead wife and another body reportedly discovered on the property. Alexander Pagani, author of Discerning the Demonic, and Mark Harris, author of Houses of the Holy, offer separate interview opportunities examining different dimensions of this disturbing subject.

Pagani brings expertise in spiritual discernment and alleged demonic influence, while Harris shares a deeply personal family experience in which his two young boys were terrorized by their grandfather and witnessed the murder of a man inside their home.

In 2019, California couple Mike and Julie Harding purchased a spectacular retirement mansion property in Tennessee at a bargain price. According to reports, the property had a troubling history, including a previous homeowner who shot his daughter’s boyfriend and a bitter divorce. The mansion’s reputation was sufficiently unsettling that a realtor reportedly brought in someone to try to rid the house of alleged evil spirits.

Three years later, Mike disappeared. Investigators eventually determined he had been lured to a location by someone posing as a real estate agent and shot four times at close range. Evidence recovered from his cellphone helped lead authorities to a suspect. Julie, a former California Highway Patrol captain, was subsequently implicated in the case, according to the television report. The investigation also revealed another body on the property.

The case raises unsettling questions about the relationship between alleged supernatural activity, psychological fears and the very real capacity for human evil. Pagani can examine those questions through the lens of spiritual discernment, explaining how to approach claims of curses, hauntings and demonic influence without confusing speculation with evidence.

As the author of Discerning the Demonic, he can discuss why supposedly cursed properties capture the public imagination, how fear can distort perceptions and why distinguishing spiritual beliefs from documented criminal behavior matters.

Harris offers a separate, firsthand perspective on the horrors that can unfold inside a home and on a property. His two young boys were terrorized by their grandfather and witnessed a man’s murder in the house. Their experience provides a disturbing starting point for discussing the vulnerability of children exposed to violence, the betrayal of safety within the family environment and the lasting consequences of witnessing extreme cruelty.

While Pagani addresses questions surrounding alleged supernatural evil and the importance of discernment, Harris brings the conversation back to the tangible human suffering that violence inflicts on families. His story underscores that the most frightening forms of evil do not require a haunted mansion or claims of paranormal activity on a property.

Together, these distinct angles offer producers two compelling ways to explore a story that combines a supposedly cursed property, a shocking murder investigation and the darker realities of human behavior.

Alexander Pagani and Mark Harris are available for separate interviews on this topic. Pagani is suited to discussions of spiritual discernment and alleged demonic influence; Harris is available to discuss his family’s traumatic experience with terror and murder on their own property. They are being offered as independent guests, not as a joint interview.
