Experts on Political Tsunami in Venezuela

Sea Señor: Political Tsunamis off Venezuela as Trump Targets Oil Routes, Fentanyl Pipelines, and Cartels

The next geopolitical earthquake isn’t in Eastern Europe, the Middle East, or the Pacific. It’s in Venezuela — and it’s unfolding faster than the U.S. media cycle can track.

Geoff Gilson, former speechwriter for British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher, and geopolitical expert is available for interviews. Also available is Joshua Philipp, senior investigative reporter for the Epoch Times (available after October 30).

On the surface, headlines focus on U.S. drug-interdiction operations and an aircraft carrier task group stationed near Venezuela’s coastline. But the fentanyl-interdiction narrative is only a sliver of what’s really happening. Venezuela has suddenly become the crossroads of global power, where the interests of China, Russia, Iran, and the United States collide — with oil, sanctions, and regional influence in the balance.

Venezuela the Center of Gravity

“Who would have thought,” Gilson rhetorically intones, “that Venezuela would be such a pressure point. It’s like having a pain in the neck that is relieved by pressing under one’s foot, tapping on their elbow, and pulling their thumb back a bit. The neck is suddenly pain free.”

That may be an oversimplification and going too far, as Venezuela remains a pressure point but it is definitely an acute hotspot at the moment.

  • China relies on Venezuelan crude as a backdoor supply route — cheap, plentiful, and strategically essential.
  • Iran, facing crippling sanctions, uses Venezuela as a shell platform to move oil and money around the world.
  • Russia, already stretched across multiple war fronts, simply cannot afford a sustained proxy conflict in the Western Hemisphere — yet it is deeply entangled in Caracas.
  • And now, the United States is projecting force into the region in a way we haven’t seen in decades.

Meanwhile, Venezuelan opposition figure María Corina Machado — once celebrated by the international Left after edging out Donald Trump for Nobel Peace Prize consideration — is now openly praising Trump’s posture in the region. The same activists who cheered her are now furious. The ideological ground has shifted so abruptly that the Left can’t decide who their hero is anymore.

This is no longer a regional crisis. This is the new fault line of global influence.

This is the story world media will soon be forced to cover.
