Gun Owners of America spokesman Mark Jones discusses a recent court finding in Minnesota surrounding “ghost guns” – and why it’s so important.
For a while there, “ghost guns” were of great concern to the Biden Administration, particularly because they didn’t have trackable serial numbers. After all, they’re purchasable online, and fairly easy to assemble, so why would they necessarily need one? And this week, one state decided that they simply don’t need a number for someone to possess one.
According to The Epoch Times, Minnesota’s Supreme Court recently ruled in favor of Logan Vagle, a man who was charged back in 2022 with possessing a firearm lacking a serial number – a “ghost gun.” Initially, its law states that people are not allowed to possess “a firearm that is not identified by a serial number.”
However, the Court noted, “We conclude that section 609.667(3) criminalizes the possession of a firearm that is not identified by a serial number only if federal law requires that a serial number be stamped, engraved, cast, or otherwise conspicuously placed on the firearm.”
So, in conclusion, “ghost guns” don’t require serial numbers. That said, however, certain politicians still see them as a danger – especially when it comes to their online availability. But are they really that much of a threat, or simply a more affordable option for those looking to keep their loved ones safe?
Joining us to discuss this further is Mark Jones, who serves as the National Director for the Gun Owners of America. They are a group that firmly believes in the right for everyone to bear arms, as stated by the Second Amendment of the Constitution. We welcome him to the show!
