The former Mayor of Shiloh discusses the ongoing Palestinian protests, despite the agreement reached by Israel and Hamas.
This past week, President Donald Trump helped put together a deal between Israel and Hamas that could very well end conflict between the two parties. For that matter, the release of Hamas’ long-suffering hostages could be imminent, as soon as today.
However, it appears there are many that are skeptical of the deal – and continue to express their opinion loudly over it.
This past week, pro-Palestinian protests took place in several locations, including Boston – where several police officers were injured and protestors were arrested – as well as London, Sydney and Norway.
“Even if the ceasefire holds, Israel is still conducting a military occupation of Gaza and the West Bank,” Amal Naser, an organizer of the Sydney rally, said in a statement. “The occupation as well as systemic discrimination against Palestinians living in Israel constitute an Apartheid system.”
Is this reasoning enough for such protests to continue? Joining us now to discuss this further is David Rubin, former mayor of Shiloh, Israel, and Founder of the Shiloh Israel Children’s Fund. Welcome, Mayor Rubin.
