Moving Forward To Secure Gun Rights!

A spokesman for the Gun Owners of America discusses the recent victories that came with a new legislation that includes a number of useful improvements – though the fight is far from over.

Just weeks after it filed a crucial lawsuit surrounding the One Big Beautiful Bill and its unfair National Firearms Act (NFA) stance, the Gun Owners of America have begun moving forward on other victories, with the help of a House subcommittee.

Thanks to its hard-working lobbying team, the group has teamed up with the Commerce, Justice and Science Appropriations Subcommittee in a crucial vote, scoring a number of what it deems “pro-gun victories” as a result.

That includes the following, as noted by the group:

  • Language that would prevent the ATF-DEA merger, stopping the creation of a superagency that would empower a future anti-gun administration to go after gun owners in the same way they go after violent drug cartels.
  • A 25% budget cut for the ATF, which further reduces the agency’s funding after last year’s historic cut. Anti-gun Democrats have said this would lead to the ATF having to fire 1000 employees.
  • A provision that would defund the Biden Era ATF regulations, such as the pistol-brace ban and the frame & receiver rule.
  • A GOA priority provision that would defund states that refuse to accept concealed carry reciprocity.
  • GOA-backed language to delete the ATF’s illegal gun registry.

While these are certainly big wins, the fight is far from over. Along with battling back against the NFA, the group has also filed a challenge against the United States Postal Service, in an effort to overturn a long-standing ban on the mailing of handguns – something, by the way, many private corporations are violating as you read this.

So what comes with this ongoing battle? A spokesman for the Gun Owners of America – either Mark Jones or Stephen Willeford – joins us now to discuss this lawsuit further. We welcome them to the show!
