Millions of parents in America are fed up with the indoctrination happening in our public schools across the nation

The Florida Department of Education and Gov. DeSantis rejection of more than 50 mathematical textbooks – nearly half of what has been submitted overall – for containing “prohibited topics” is what the United States Parents involved in Education (USPIE) believes is the first of many other states to follow suit.

Here’s what happens to students when basic skills are not being taught – California’s student math scores have set off a five-alarm fire because analysis finds that the average eight-grader only has skills indicative of fifth grade. It’s time to put theories aside and get back to the principles of teaching reading, writing, arithmetic, and science in America’s public schools.

Joining us now is an expert from the USPIE team, here to discuss the finer details behind Florida’s rejection of textbooks, and what it means for childhood education in the future

Q&A

1.     What is the takeaway in the message that Florida is sending?

2.     It seems a bit odd that Critical Race Theory could end up in lessons surrounding a math book. Is there something dishonest about this?

3.     What should parents be concerned about?

4.     How do you think other states will react over Florida’s decision? Do you believe they’ll act with equal measure, or instate their own rules as to what is being taught within their schools?

5.     What recommendations would you give to other concerned parents about the textbooks being used in their states? What action steps can be taken?

6.     Could you please tell us about the new documentary film you are in that covers some of what we discussed today, and where we may watch it or get more information on the film?
