National Narrative is about Victimizing Hamas Allies
Television Only
Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) have ratcheted up their attacks in Gaza. Israel insists that the bombings are targeting areas where rockets launched by Hamas were fired. These new IDF military operations coincide with Prime Minister Netanyahu’s diplomatic visit to Washington, DC as the political climate there is tumultuous to say the least.
Of course, the mainstream media (the Washington Post article linked below) is focusing on a political narrative and buries the Lede in the last two paragraphs of the article. On the same day that the IDF intensified its operations in Gaza, it was announced that TWO of the October 7th Hostages were killed while in captivity – Dancyg, 76, and Yagev Buchshtab, 35.
While these events occurred at similar times, they are not causal. In fact, they are not isolated deaths. “These are not the only hostages that Hamas has killed,” says actor Robert Davi, perhaps known best for his role as an FBI agent in the film Die Hard. “Another aspect has to do with how the media presents this information. The slaying of hostages is buried at the end, while terrorists being killed by the IDF gets all the attention.”
The article is clearly a biased portrayal of events and chooses to shine a light on what it says are Palestinian victims. The opening two paragraphs of the article point to scores of Palestinian “casualties”, implying that Netanyahu is exploiting political conditions in the U.S.
What it does not seem much interested in are innocent hostages being slaughtered. Here to discuss the situation in Gaza, as well as Netanyahu’s visit and the treatment of October 7th hostages is Robert Davi, spokesman for Shiloh Israel Children’s Fund

**Suggested Interview Questions:**
- Robert, what does the mainstream media’s treatment of the slaughter of Israeli hostages, in light of its treatment of Palestinians say about the larger agenda?
- Why do you think Israel was compelled to launch this most recent series of attacks in Gaza?
- Hamas Often uses human shields in its operations. Can you elaborate on this tactic, why it’s so effective, and was it used to prompt these recent IDF attacks?
- Is Hamas exploiting the de-stabilized political climate in the U.S. to bait the IDF into these attacks and is the left-wing mainstream media instead exploiting American politics to paint Netanyahu as an opportunist during his diplomatic visit?
- This appears to be yet another in a long line of instances in which Hamas uses civilians to serve its agenda. What should Israel do – other than what it’s doing already – to win the battle in the arena of public opinion?
- What message do you have for the international community regarding Israel’s actions in Gaza?
