Intro: Portland, Oregon, a city run by Liberal Democrats, has experienced over 55 days of unrelenting protest and violent destruction with no end in sight. Under the cover of political protests, criminals have descended to commit looting, assaults and even murder. Such scenes have become all too common and, combined with police being ordered to stand down, an atmosphere of lawlessness of has descended on once peaceful cities with no end in sight. In addition, federal assistance has been shunned by Democrat mayors seeking to sideline Trump at this crucial time.
What can a law abiding citizen due but assume the police won’t come, won’t help and may even be hindrance to their safety, so aptly demonstrated after a St. Louis couple was charged with crimes for defending their own their home with firearms. Survival in a crunch will come down to being able to forcefully defend one’s family and person with firepower, and that means guns. Ammo and gun sales are skyrocketing as the news paints a grim of picture of how view their world.
- Being free to defend oneself is not only enshrined in the Constitution but was vital for colonists well before the Revolution. Now people feel stuck between protestors and criminals and local governments hostile or immune to defending their rights as law abiding citizens. How does navigate when caught between these worlds?
Answer: People must always chose survival first, when everything they have worked and cherish the most is at risk, no living creature shrinks from defending their turf. Unfortunately, having a gun is a necessary evil and millions of Americans are fully prepared to use them while millions more are joining their ranks as this crisis escalates.
- The plain fact is the chaos being allowed by politicians in many cities is breaking the system apart, now the protestors have turned on the Mayor of Portland as not radical enough, police are told to stand down as children in Chicago are slaughtered every day, Brooklyn a woman was shot eight times for complaining about neighbor’s fireworks. It is not surprising people are buying guns, do you have a breakdown of the new buyers?
Answer: There are major increases across the board, but the ones most at risk make the largest segment, sales to Black men and women in the first six-months of 2020 are up 60%. This is a fascinating development, when these communities start to push back and force their so-called political leaders to take control then the situations might change, until then everyone is at risk. White men and women had the second largest firearm sales increase at 51.9 percent, followed by Hispanic men and women at 49.4 percent, and Asian men and women at 42.9 percent.
- Criminals don’t buy legal guns and gangs have access to lots of powerful weapons, making it even more important for citizens to wake up and demand law and order from their leaders. Billions of dollars have been lost in destruction and many establishments that were burned or looted will never open again. What can normal people do besides buying guns?
Answer: First they must alert civic leaders they prepared to defend themselves and vote them out of office if they won’t help. Politicians are all about getting and increasing their power, and voters have the power to boot them out of office. If politicians are stubborn enough to take voters for granted, then they deserve to be stripped of power and cast out to survive with the rest of us.
- Using a gun is serious business, proper training and respect for their deadliness is necessary, but being denied the right to own them is even worse. History has taught us that a disarmed populace is a vulnerable populace, do you believe the far-left want to confiscate everyone’s weapons?
Answer: Without a doubt, without the Second Amendment they would have already done it. Look at what happens in places like Australia, Great Britain and many other countries where guns ownership is outlawed; when criminals know for sure their target is unarmed then the consequences of aggression are lessened, and in many of these countries police are not armed. If citizens are not armed, then it is short step for the government to grab complete control over everyone and everything.
- Do you believe the current election is in some ways a referendum on gun ownership, after all Joe Biden seems to agree with many plans for gun confiscation voiced by other candidates?
Answer: How can one see it any other way. The left has been chipping away at gun rights for decades, and now the highly vocal and powerful far-left really believe they have everyone on their back heels and are pushing harder and harder. If the anti-gun forces have the power they will move to not only outlaw guns but try and confiscate weapons from law abiding citizens.
- Can you break down the current unrest in more basic terms?
Answer: Power is perception; these violent groups see all the scared politicians caving to their every demand, and in turn those same politicians will get eaten alive when their usefulness is at an end. On the opposite side, a powerful counter attack by citizens exercising their rights through well-established institutions can aggressively grab the power back. Guns are at the heart of being able to push back; only by standing up to bullies can one change that perception of power.
