Genesis 123 Foundation founder and author Jonathan Feldstein discusses the significance of the anniversary, especially with what’s happening in Israel today.
On November 29, 1947, the United Nations voted to establish the State of Israel, an event that came in the wake of the Holocaust, at a time when anti-Semitism and the potential of war lingered for the fledgling state and its citizens. Now, the anniversary of that signing comes in the midst of a heated war between Israel and Hamas, which has resulted in the loss of thousands of lives.
With that, Jonathan Feldstein, a key Israeli figure and founder of the Genesis 123 Foundation (based on Genesis 12:3) joins us to not only discuss the anniversary, but also the challenges that Israel faces today in the context of global perceptions and media misrepresentation, which has contributed to the growing anti-Semitism.
Q&A:
- First off, what is the historical importance of this anniversary, especially in context to what’s happening in Israel now?
- It seems the media has played a significant role when it comes to the representation of Israel. What are the big concerns surrounding the portrayal of Israel, Hamas, and the so-called “Palestinians” in the news, especially where the mass liberal media is concerned?
- What are the current security and societal challenges that Israel faces, and how has that had an effect on you and your family?
- You’ve been talking quite a bit as of late about the unprecedented levels of support for Israel amongst Christians worldwide. How can these relations help combat anti-Semitism and misconceptions about Israel?
- Any further word on what’s happening with the hostages in Israel right now? We just saw that Hamas and Israel have opted to extend the ceasefire for two additional days. Will we see more releases?
- Looking back on history, if the Arab world had accepted to establish the State of Israel in 1947 rather than extinguish it, life in Israel and the Middle East would likely be different, and perhaps even peaceful. Talk to us about why you believe this didn’t happen.
- We believe you recently discussed a Tanzanian Hamas terror victim that was recently laid to rest with comfort and support from Israel. Can you tell us more about him?
- Tell us about the Genesis 123 Foundation.
- It is a nonprofit whose mission is to build bridges between Jews and Christians with Israel in ways that are new, unique, and meaningful.
- Where may we find more information on the Genesis 123 Foundation?
