The former Mayor of Shiloh discusses the U.S.’ recent operation in Venezuela, and what effect it could have surrounding Iran’s tyranny.
As you may have heard at this point, the United States led a major operation against Venezuela this past week, resulting in the capture of former President Nicolas Maduro, who currently sets in U.S. military custody.
Many have noted that this has been a long time coming, particularly with Maduro’s previous criminal actions within the country. And it’s sending ripples that, hopefully, other countries will take notice of.
Israel sent its heartiest congratulations to U.S. President Donald Trump for the operation, with Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar noting that the country “acted as the leader of the free world” and “Israel stands alongside the freedom-loving Venezuelan people, who have suffered under Maduro’s illegal tyranny.”
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu also applauded the operation on X, telling Trump, “I salute your decisive resolve and the brilliant action of your brave soldiers.”
But more importantly, this operation could send a message to Iran, according to Opposition Leader Yair Lapid. “The regime in Iran should pay close attention to what is happening in Venezuela.”
Diaspora Affairs Minister Amichai Chikli agreed, noting that the operation is “not only good news for the people dwelling in Caracas; it is also a devastating blow to the global axis of evil and a clear message to (Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali) Khamenei.”
But will Iran learn from this? And, for that matter, what does this mean for Israel?
Joining us now to discuss this further is David Rubin, former mayor of Shiloh, Israel, and Founder of the Shiloh Israel Children’s Fund. Welcome, Mayor Rubin.

- What about those that criticize the actions that took place in Venezuela? Are they “missing something” when it comes to the bigger picture?
