It Looks Like the Migrant Problem Is Getting Worse…But What’s the Solution? (Guest: Michael Letts)

Law enforcement veteran Michael Letts looks at the growing situation in New York, and wonders why the government isn’t doing more about it.

While the fight continues to keep migrants from entering in the southern part of the United States, it appears another struggle has emerged in New York.

report from Fox News notes that a group of illegal migrants refused to leave their free New York City hotel rooms for a shelter in Brooklyn, with others joining them in protest. Democrat Mayor Eric Adams has addressed the matter, noting that the move was necessary to accommodate all incoming migrants – in which there are many.

This past weekend, “we began the process of moving single adult men from the Watson Hotel to Brooklyn Cruise Terminal, as we transition the hotel to meet the large number of asylum-seeking families with children,” Adams explained.

“More than 42,000 asylum seekers have arrived in New York City since last spring, and we continue to surpass our moral obligations as we provide asylum seekers with shelter, food, health care, education, and a host of other services.”

The bigger problem here is the number reported above – thousands of migrants entering the country, with no solution in sight on how to resolve the problem.

With us now to discuss this further is Michael Letts, a law enforcement veteran with over 30 years of experience under his belt. Michael is founder, president and CEO of InVest USA, an organization that provides bulletproof vests to police officers through various charitable groups and sponsorships. His expertise will certainly be welcome in this matter.

Q&A:

  1. So who would you say is to blame for all these migrants making their way into the U.S.? Is New York not doing enough to keep it under control? Or is it another part of the government?
  2. How much would you say is President Joe Biden to blame on this matter, especially considering the lack of attention he’s given to our borders in the past?
  3. Biden did recently call for a border control program that would only let select migrants into the country at a time, but do you think this has any chance of working at this rate?
  4. What more can New York do to get a handle on the migrant situation, especially since the Brooklyn Cruise Terminal Humanitarian Emergency Response and Relief Center has reached “its breaking point”?
  5. Adams recently noted that the migrant surge at the border has become a “national crisis.” Do you believe this to be the case?
  6. What do you think is a more proper solution for the growing migrant problem?
  1. You’re the creator of InVest USA, an organization that provides bulletproof vests to police officers through various charitable groups and sponsorships. Tell us more about that, and why support for fellow officers is so important right now.
  2. We understand that InVest USA is also actively involved with Twitter. Where can interested parties learn more?
