Is President Biden Doing Enough When It Comes To Preventing Houthi Attacks On Commercial Shipping?

Retired Lt. Col. Robert Maginnis discusses the newly formed Operation Prosperity Guardian, and why more effort is needed to thwart attacks.

Earlier this month, Iran-backed Yemeni Houthis announced that they intend to target all merchant vessels heading to Israel via the Red Sea, in the face of the conflict it’s currently having with Hamas. This poses an imminent threat to shipments, potentially around the world, and can drive up prices on consumer goods worldwide.

As such, Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin announced the forming of Operation Prosperity Guardian, a task force that vows to protect commercial shipping from attack by the Houthis. But the real question is, will this be enough?

If these attacks continue to be successful, they could leave an impact in terms of prices on particular products – a devastating blow considering how much the economy has already felt such an impact from 2023 alone. Iran has already vowed to keep pushing until the United States exits the Mideast or Tehran crosses a “red line,” forcing our country to push back.

But is a task force enough? Retired Lt. Col. Robert Maginnis doesn’t think so. The author of Divided We Stand: The Globalist Scheme for a One-World Government, he believes that Biden should strike deeper into the heart of Tehran, namely the Quds Force.

Maginnis joins us now to discuss this situation further.

Q&A:

  1. If these attacks continue on shipments, will it really have that big an effect on worldwide shipments? And, for that matter, aspects of the U.S. economy?
  2. What are your thoughts on the formation of Operation Prosperity Guardian? What sort of impact will this have on the current attacks by Houthis?
  3. Do you believe Iran’s actions will have any sort of effect on Israel and its fight against Hamas?
  4. You noted that President Biden should take a note from former President Ronald Reagan and attack the Quds Force directly. What kind of strategy would this involve, and do you believe he would even consider such an option given the risk?
  5. Where do you see this situation going as 2024 goes on? Could it have an effect on Biden’s potential re-election bid?
  6. Tell us more about your book, Divided We Stand: The Globalist Scheme for a One-World Government, and what inspired you to write it.
  7. Where can interested people find your book?
    1. It’s available here on Amazon, in both paperback and Kindle format.
