Is Pope Francis Correct In Calling For an Investigation of Israel’s “Genocide”? (Guest: Mark Biltz)

The pastor of El Shaddai Ministries discusses the Pope’s recent call to look into the country’s actions against Hezbollah.

With the growing escalation between Israel and Hezbollah over the last year, many are questioning the actions of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. But this week saw even bigger criticism from one of the world’s most prominent figures – Pope Francis.

According to the Associated Press, the Pope has called for an investigation, wanting to see if Israel’s recent attacks against Hezbollah constitute some form of genocide.

According to excerpts from Hernan Reyes Alcaide’s book, Hope Never Disappoints. Pilgrims Towards a Better World”, focusing on the Pope, Francis noted that the attacks in Gaza have been nothing short of “immoral,” with its military going beyond the means of usual war tactics.

The Pope notes specifically, “According to some experts, what is happening in Gaza has the characteristics of genocide.” He later added, “We should investigate carefully to determine whether it fits into the technical definition formulated by jurists and international bodies.”

Now whether an investigation will take place has yet to be seen. But it’s certainly raising a few eyebrows, specifically with Netanyahu’s critics.

Joining us now to discuss this further is Pastor Mark Biltz, an author and the founder and Senior Pastor of El Shaddai Ministries in Washington State. His experience should prove useful in this conversation. Welcome, Mark.
